Had a nostalgic time looking through all my old sketchbooks today, and found a few old ones that needed to -not- be forgotten! (in all the dust and moving and stuff..)

So I used a good part of the evening and night scanning and pimping in Photoshop!

(...While I should have been working on my "Making of Salma" I found this to be a great way to procrastinate AND work at the same time ^__^ )

The sketch that had me thinking of animating was this one:

I wanted to see the drawing come ALIVE... (Animation is not done yet, ~~hello it's MR obvious~~ as you can see. The layout spread out in my sketchbook after a lecture at school (it's bird wings on the right side page, they had to make way for the environment that grew =3):

I tried boosting the values some and additional shadow/light:

Started on this watercolor, ecoline color thing (it has been chopped since the scanner is an A3 and the paper was bigger than that). Here are different variations, with more or less color.

The first being the original (I find it way to saturated so I worked a little with that: tried boosting the orange trees by desaturating the rest, then adding a gradient map in a brownish shade (see the last picture).
I will have to work more with my perspective and should definately start using more guidelines ruled in. Plus much more thumbnails and planning!
